The Lily by William Blake

Plumeria Blossom

The Lily by William Blacke

"The modest Rose puts forth a thorn,
The humble sheep a threat'ning horn:
While the Lily white shall in love delight,
Nor a thorn nor a threat stain her beauty bright."

Life is a series of risks, some small, some great. Wisdom is knowing which risks to take.

Be brave in every second of your life!

21. eau eau eau eau vague vague vague vague mer mer mer mer mer frankreich frankreich

Courage, it would seem, is nothing less than the power to overcome danger, misfortune, fear, injustice, while continuing to affirm inwardly that life with all its sorrows is good; that everything is meaningful even if in a sense beyond our understanding; and that there is always tomorrow. (Dorothy Thompson)

Be brave in every second of your life and your living will be fantastic.

Start Where You Stand by Berton Braley

Wisdom & Courage

Start where you stand and never mind the past,
The past won't help you in beginning new,
If you have left it all behind at last
Why, that's enough, you're done with it, you're through;

This is another chapter in the book,
This is another race that you have planned,
Don't give the vanished days a backward look,
Start where you stand.

The world won't care about your old defeats
If you can start anew and win success;
The future is your time, and time is fleet
And there is much of work and strain and stress;

Forget the buried woes and dead despairs,
Here is a brand-new trial right at hand,
The future is for him who does and dares,
Start where you stand.

Old failures will not halt, old triumphs aid,
To-day's the thing, to-morrow soon will be;
Get in the fight and face it unafraid,
And leave the past to ancient history,

What has been, has been; yesterday is dead
And by it you are neither blessed nor banned;
Take courage, man, be brave and drive ahead,
Start where you stand.

Cacica Salt Mine - Suceava (Romania)

Life underground - Cacica salt mine

Situated 18km away from Gura Humorului, the Cacica salt mine represents an important tourist attraction of Bucovina region. Begun by the order of Empress Maria Theresa, the salt mine were manually dug out and opened in 1791. There are 8200 galleries that were all manually dug out, reinforced with wood and in a perfect condition today.

In the first room, 25 meters deep, was built a chapel. Its called the Church St. Barbara (Varvara), and was a praying site for all the miners who worked there, and even today service is held. To reach the chapel, you have to go down a ladder with almost 200 steps.

Further below, more steps and another gallery (35 meters deep) that leads to a small salty lake (38 meters deep), manually dig by miners, where some time ago, people were putting their rafts to use.

Next comes the Ball room, or festivities room (44 meters deep), today tennis and volley course.

A new special person came into my life :)

John Najjar & his friend

Bertie Higgins - Casablanca

Again with a friend almost 20 years ago(how quickly time passes).

Interestingly, dear John, but when I saw your pictures,
I had a Deja-Vu!
Like I knew you for a lifetime :)

Welcome into my special space and always see the light :)

Hugs,
Shanti - a new Muse :)

Sweet Muse by John Najjar

Thank you; you are sun. My heart is singing.
You are the sun, I am a candle.
My words are mere shadows compared to your beauty. I bow low to your beauty, for how can a candle be compared to the sun. Today I dance in joy. Thank you, sweet Muse, with love and light, I hope to return what you have given me.

Mike Oldfield - Muse

Sweet Muse
For Shanti, The Sun

Delicate and soft,
Sweet Muse,

your song holds me so close,

two hearts beast to breast,

beat as one.

Apart always together,

Together always apart.

sweet moonlight, soft starlight,
You summarizer,
so beautiful
Sweet delicate Muse.

Sweet Muse your song hints of paradise,
A play beyond being a man,
a woman,
a silent space,

tender as moonlight it touches the face of a pond.
Angel, sweet Muse

tell me of this wonderful place,
this heart felt tender lace,
more.

Autumn by John Najjar (my special friend from Australia)

Autumn leaves

A U T U M N

For nicobmb, whose beautiful videos inspired me to write this poem.

Everything fades,
Midnight autumn, stardust, moonlight, midnight autumn.
We journey through midnight autumn,
everything fades,
in this dance, this journey,
everything must fade in this autumn journey.

A rose booms, flowers,
then fades,
all things must journey to their completion.

Midnight starlight autumn dawn,
All things must fade;
each sunrise is birth, each sunset a death.
Midnight moonlight autumn journey.

All things must fade, and so we must too.

Midnight autumn, stardust, moonlight,
midnight autumn

We journey through midnight autumn,
in this dance, this journey;
so must we too.

Tell midnight, stardust, fading moon,
midnight autumn,
Does the heart deceive us?
Through secrets of the rain,
the storm inside us all.
Tell me midnight,
stardust fading moon,
does the heart deceive us?
Starlight midnight moon light
do nightmares tear the heart?

Starlight midnight fading moon,
Full moon.
All things pass away.
We step out this journey,
clothed by this bone bag
seeking our home,
seeking midnight starlight.

The world is wolf,
time eats us.
Midnight moonlight
autumn spring.
Inside this bone bag
made from the dust,
the dust of eons,
long dead stars.
We are stardust,
we seek our home,
the stars.

Inside us all is a hidden lantern,
a blazing sun.
We look towards
traitorous objects
searching for what we know
but do not know,

Darkness haunts us,
shadows stark us;
in our dreams we fly.
The world deceives us,
so does the sun, but, do our dreams?

Do our dreams desert us in the night?
do they?
The body deceives us and so does time,
but, Dona, do the winds laugh at us?
Do our dreams deceive us in the night?
Dona, due, through, endings, die.
Oh Dona do our dreams
desert us in the daylight?

Does the heart lie, as it leads us to our end?

Or does our heart show us the way,
the way home.
Each sunrise is a birth,
each sunset a death
each storm followed, flowered, towered
by a rainbow.

Midnight stardust fading moon
midnight autumn
evening dawn.
Midnight starlight
evening dawn;
midnight starlight
evening dawn.

A poem inspired by my video - "Eros to Psyche" by my special friend John (Australia)

Eros to Psyche

With love to Shantiliu; your beautiful video Eros and Psyche inspired me to write this poem.

Psyche my other self
I stumbled
pricked by my own arrow.
Psyche your beauty exceeds the stars
such beauty stunned me, and I fell.
Psyche.

Psyche with dawn
I must leave you
Seek me not
or my face look upon.

Psyche, you held
the lamp high.
You betrayed me.
In shocked delight at the sight
you fell and pricked your self.
Psyche you betrayed me,
as all lovers must do.
I must leave you,
Psyche.

Psyche your audacious
beauty
made Aphrodite jealous.
I was sent to bring
punishment upon you.
I stumbled and fell,
pricked by my own arrow.

Psyche you listened to them,
Now a darkness
separates us,
I love you;
The lamp you held high,
so you in frightening
solitude must go,
Psyche.

You have betrayed me,
as all lovers must do.
Look to the ants, the bees ,
the water-reeds
and find yourself, me,
in darkness,
Psyche.

Mistrust and suspicion
come between us.
I gave you myself,
only my face
I asked you not to see,
Psyche.

I did not ask for much.
You have betrayed me
as all lovers must do.
Now my nostalgic heart
must depart from you.
Look for yourself, me,
in the darkness,
Psyche.

I must leave you.
In the darkness,
look and bring back
one pot of Persephone's beauty cream.
look for your self, for me,
In the darkness,
Psyche.

Is not love a darkness,
that takes the self from the self.
you have betrayed me
as all lovers must do.
Look for yourself, me,
in the darkness that is love.
Look for yourself, me,
and you shall see me
in truth and love,
Psyche.

When all hope has gone,
look for yourself, me,
in the darkness and find me.
When you have given up on love,
life,
look into the void, and find yourself, me,
Psyche.

Love betrays us all,
or do we betray love?
your beauty is the sun
to me.
But you betrayed me,
as all loves do,
now you must seek yourself, me,
in darkness,
Psyche

You betrayed me
as lovers always do.
Is love not a darkness,
Psyche?
We surrender to love
and lose ourselves to each other.
such darkness is binding,
blinding.
We open our eyes to find self
and it is gone.
I must leave you,
Psyche.

John Najjar (18/8/09)

I am more than a friend

The hardest thing is to get over what cupid didn’t bring
His arrow missed your hear but struck mine
How I wish his arrow true did sing
And undo this undeserving crime

Drink

Now one is in love and the other is not
I wish no other to be like me
So I’ve aimed my arrow and drawn it taught
To end this life of misery

Where Cupid faltered I will succeed
An arrow of love aimed straight and true
In hope that I will soon be freed
From a life of being in love with you

Lips

There is only one way to change the way I feel
The arrow flies from my bow of love
Sent to show I am for real
It cuts the air like a flying dove

Just as the arrow is about to land
I close my eyes in fear of a miss
And when I peek through my hand
And through my fingers you plant your kiss

Leg

My love soars higher than eagle’s wings
Finally I am more than a friend
And as the clouds open and the angels sing
I lean over to kiss you again

Have a lovely week day
best for the best
with love
Shanti
